Garden City Pool (Parking Field 9)

The Employee Parking Incentive Program will begin on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Any eligible employee who wishes to join the parking incentive program for the Spring 2016 semester must register no later than Friday, January 15, 2016.

This parking program will be in effect Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. while classes are in regular session for the Spring 2016 semester and ONLY OPEN to full time employees of Local 153, Public Safety, 1102, APPWLU and full-time non-union employees.

To thank our employees who help us meet our goal of 100 vehicles parking at the GC Pool location, the University has agreed to grant two (2) additional paid days off as “parking incentive days” to the first 100 eligible employees who routinely work normal business hours and who agree to park their university registered private vehicle at the Garden City Pool, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., for the entire Spring 2016 semester. The Adelphi shuttle buses will operate approximately every 15 minutes during these hours. In addition, these employees will receive a complimentary “Friend of the Chamber Benefit Card” that will provide discounts to local restaurants and merchants in Garden City.

Note: Participants must complete the program for the entire Spring semester regardless of when the Nexus building parking field is opened.

Terms of the offer: Any employee who agrees to participate in this Parking Incentive Program must have his/her car(s) registered with the Department of Public Safety as of the date of this memo and must routinely park on the Garden City campus during the semester, Monday through Thursday, during normal business hours. Employees who volunteer to participate in the incentive program will receive a new parking decal. If a vehicle with this decal is parked on the Garden City campus (excluding Parking Field #9) during the times of the program, the vehicle is subject to a $50 fine and the participant will be removed from the program and will not be eligible for parking incentive days.

You will earn two (2) days off as “parking incentive days” at the conclusion of the Spring 2016 semester. If you choose to withdraw from the program during the semester, all “parking incentive days” will be forfeited and you will not be eligible to receive any parking incentive days.

Parking incentive days must be used by the end of the 2016 academic year and any unused time is not eligible to be paid in lieu of taking off time. As with all time off, advance notice and supervisor approval is required.

This parking incentive offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to enroll in the program is Friday, January 15, 2016.
