Keeping Adelphi safe is everyone’s responsibility. When an emergency situation arises, the people who can remain calm and are prepared hold a greater chance of having a successful outcome. The Department of Public Safety has a number of training programs with regards to an Active Shooter/Hostile Intruder, Emergency Preparedness and Fire Safety.

If you would like to view a video that that provides a survival mindset during an Active Shooter situation, please contact the Department of Public Safety. By viewing this video you will be equipped with the knowledge to make a lifesaving decision by running, hiding or fighting.

The content of this video will not only provide lifesaving information at Adelphi but the same techniques can be utilized in a mall, theater, restaurant or any other public environment.

Adelphi Door Lock Institutional Video

Over the summer the university installed new door hardware on all classroom doors in the unlikely event of a lockdown. This video provides detailed instruction on how to lock the classroom door from the inside.
